Westgate Cinema Centre Hall of Fame #3
In the 1970s General Cinema had 4 Westgate Cinemas, and Brockton was one of them (the others were Cleveland, OH, Abilene, TX and Racine, WI).
In 1971 it housed four screens. It was later increased to seven screens, and was operated by Hoyt’s. The theater closed in October 2004 and was razed to the ground in 2005 to make way for Dick’s Sporting Goods.
The third inductee into the Westgate Cinema Centre Hall of Fame, and the first M & J Movie Pick, is 1972’s “The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean” starring Paul Newman.
